Top Moon

Top Moon is made from vintage kantha leftovers and is a top star made in a beautiful moon shape. It is perfect for decorating the most joyful Christmas tree and spreading the Christmas spirit within the home!  

Year after year you can decorate your Christmas tree with this Top Moon. The kantha used for this item is kantha cuttings that are left over from production of the upcycled kantha blanket garments in our collections. The kantha embroidery technique, creatively upcycles old cotton saris, that previously have been worn by Indian women, giving them new life as upcycled items. This technique is characterized by the many rows of short, continuous stitches – a method that has been used in India for hundreds of years and especially common among women in the countryside. As part of our values, we cherish the idea of upcycling and using existing leftover fabrics. Due to the nature of kantha, you may find different colors on the back of the item, additional fabric patches, smaller imperfections such as small stains and spots or extra stitching that adds to its unique charm.
