Fran Dress

Fran Dress has a feminine, loose fit and is made in 100% organic cotton canvas. The combination of triangle inserts and the heavier canvas fabric gives the dress a soft, voluminous drape. It features voluminous raglan sleeves gathered at the top and at the sleeve openings. The dress has a round neckline with a V-shape at the front and is detailed with bindings along seams and edges. It is decorated with beautiful Suzani embroidery featuring flowers and hearts.

This Suzani embroidered item is decorated with the manually controlled chain stitch technique of Suzani embroidery. Our Suzani embroidery is made by Indian artisans, mostly using the tambour to create a unique and vivid Suzani embroidery pattern. The name “Suzani” comes from the Persian word su-zan, meaning needle. The Indian artisans use a hooked needle instrument called a tambour to create the intricate chain stitching that is the hallmark of Suzani embroidery. Due to the manually controlled nature of Suzani embroidery, you may notice little variations from one garment to another that add to the unique charm of a Suzani decorated item.
